Indian captain Rohit Sharma promised to take Axar Patel out on dinner after dropping a catch of Jaker Ali which saw Patel miss out on his first international hat-trick. The incident happened in the 9th over of Bangladesh's inning. Having picked the crucial wickets of Tanzid Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim, Axar almost got Jaker Ali caught on the first ball for what would have been his first international hat-trick but it wasn't to be. Rohit Sharma, fielding at first slip couldn't react in time as the ball slipped out of his fingers. The Hitman was furious at himself as he punched the ground in agony but speaking in the post-match presentation ceremony, he promised to make up for his mistake. He added, "I should have taken that catch with the standards I have set for myself. But I do know these things are bound to happen." Earlier, Axar Patel himself said in the mid-inning interview that such things are part and parcel of the game.
