Janelle Gale, Meta’s Vice President of Human Resources, posted a memo on the company’s internal workplace forum, stating that employees impacted by the layoffs will receive an email notification on Monday morning. Severance package details to be included in email The layoff process will begin on Sunday at 2:30 PM IST for some international employees. The other employees will be informed about the layoff on Monday at 6;30 PM IST. Within an hour, employees will not be able to use the company's system. The email will also include details of severance packages. Gale wrote, 'For teams losing a teammate or manager on Monday, I understand it can be a tough day.' He acknowledged the disruption and said that offices will remain open, but employees also has the option to opt for remote work. Meta follows a hybrid work model Meta follows a hybrid work model, where employees are required to work from the office three days a week. However, working from home on Monday will still be counted as in-person time. Affected roles will be refilled The memo stated that Meta will not disclose the names of those laid off. Some positions may be refilled, though no timeline has been set. If a manager is affected, a replacement will be appointed for their team.
