The Netherlands has become the first NATO country to contribute to a new U.S.-led initiative to arm Ukraine, pledging €500 million ($578M) for American-made weapons, including Patriot missile systems. Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans confirmed the move, while NATO chief Mark Rutte urged other allies to follow. The funding comes under the new NATO PURL initiative aimed at urgent military aid. President Trump previously stated Europe should pay for U.S. weapons sent to Ukraine.
