Ahead of the Amarnath Yatra, a major encounter broke out in Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur district. One Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorist was neutralised in a joint operation by the Indian Army and J&K Police under Operation Bihali. The encounter took place in the Basantgarh forest area following an intelligence tip-off. Security has been heightened across the region with the Yatra set to begin on July 3.
