Pranutan Bahl makes leap from Bollywood to Hollywood:Daughter of actor Mohneesh Bahl reflects on post-COVID career evolution and international cinema breakthrough

Pranutan Bahl, who is the granddaughter of late actress Nutan and daughter of Mohnish Bahl, is going to make her Hollywood debut soon. She will play the lead role in the film 'Coco Nut' alongside actor Rahsan Noor. The film is based on a romantic story and will release in 2025. The Hollywood debut is a big opportunity for Pranutan and she is very excited about it. In a conversation with Dainik Bhaskar, she openly discussed her career and this new project. How did you get this project and what was the reason for choosing it? I'm thrilled – this is such a special moment for me! Unlike my debut in 'Notebook' where I had limited romantic scenes, this new film is a pure love story. It's interesting how things come full circle – the makers first approached me in 2019 after seeing 'Notebook', but COVID put everything on hold. When they reached out again in late 2023, it felt right. We're looking to start shooting this year. The wait has been long, but I think it's worth it for a character this beautiful. Did your approach change after becoming part of a Hollywood project? Did it force you to think in a new way as an actor? See, nowadays there are no boundaries in the industry. Whatever work you do, it reaches people on some platform or another. For me this is not just a 'Hollywood debut', but an opportunity for a new experience. My thinking has always been simple – whatever project you do, do it with full heart and hard work. Whether it's Hindi cinema, Telugu industry or Hollywood, in the creative field, your real identity is not made by your language, but by your performance. When you play a character with truth and honesty, it shows on screen. That's the most important thing. You made your debut with the film Notebook in 2019. How do you view your journey so far? Reflecting on her six-year journey since her 2019 debut, actress Pranutan describes facing unique challenges as part of the pre and post-COVID batch of debutants. Despite industry changes, particularly in casting and film investments, she emphasises that hard work remained constant. After "Notebook," she appeared in "Helmet" (2021) and "Amar Prem Ki Prem Kahani" (2024).Original Article by Dainik Bhaskar
