The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) has announced the Punjab Class 12th results 2026. Three girls have scored 100 per cent in the +2 exam this year. This year, 91.46% students have passed. The exam was conducted from February 17 to April 4, 2026. Candidates can check their results online on the official portal of the PSEB at pseb.ac.in. In case of any issues, candidates can also view their results on the official portal of DigiLocker. Along with regular students results, open school marksheets are also issued.
This year, the number of candidates slightly increased to 265,417, with 242,755 students passing, bringing the pass percentage up to 91.46%. Out of the total 265,417 candidates, 242,755 students passed the examination (91.4617%). The Class 12 PSEB exams were held in the morning shift – from 11 am to 2:15 pm. The duration of each paper was three hours. Fifteen minutes were allotted as reading time for the question paper.

Girls dominate the results
Girls continued their streak of outperforming boys, recording a 94.73% pass rate compared to 88.52% for boys. Notably, all 6 transgender candidates who appeared for the exam passed with a 100% success rate.
Stream-wise results
The Commerce and Science streams saw near-perfect results with 98.78% and 98.47% pass rates, respectively. The Humanities and Vocational streams followed with 87.74% and 87.80%.

Urban Vs rural results
Rural areas slightly outpaced urban centres with a pass rate of 91.63%. Non-government schools led the school categories at 92.68%, while Government schools maintained a strong 91.41%.
District Rankings
Amritsar emerged as the top-performing district for government schools with a 96.00% pass rate. Patiala contributed 59 students to the state merit list—the highest of any district. Conversely, Ludhiana, despite its high number of candidates, recorded the state’s lowest pass percentage for government schools at 87.04%.
Subject Trends & Vocational
Subject-wise data revealed a state-wide mastery of languages and sciences, with General Punjabi seeing a 98.56% pass rate. Technical and vocational subjects such as Shorthand, Solar Panel Installation, and Beauty & Wellness recorded nearly 100% success.
Students are required to secure a minimum of 33% in both individual papers and aggregate. In subjects having theory as well as practical sections, students are required to pass both separately. Any student who fails to do so, will be required to sit for the supplementary exams. The dates for the same will be announced after the result is declared.

PSEB Open School Results 2026
Out of 12,390 students who appeared in the open category, 7,937 passed, recording an overall pass percentage of 64.06%. A significant portion of candidates, 4,346 (35.08%), fall under the re-appear category. Only 33 students (0.27%) failed, while results for 74 students (0.60%) have been withheld.
Girls outperformed boys in the open category, achieving a pass percentage of 72.43% (3,240 passed out of 4,473) compared to 59.33% for boys (4,697 passed out of 7,917). No transgender candidates appeared in this category.
Among school types, government school candidates recorded a pass rate of 67.26%, non-government schools stood at 63.44%, and aided schools achieved 65.66%.
In subject groups, the Commerce group led with the highest success rate of 84.30% (188 out of 223 passed), followed by the Mix group with 75.00% (18 out of 24 passed). The Humanities group, the largest with 12,137 candidates, registered a 63.67% pass rate (7,728 passed), while the Science group had the lowest turnout and success rate, with only 3 out of 6 students passing (50.00%).

How to check roll number-wise marks
The previous year, in 2025, the board declared the Class 12rh Punjab board results on May 14, following pen-and-paper examinations held between February 19 and April 4.The board exams opened with Home Science and concluded with Philosophy. The overall pass percentage stood at 91%, with 2,41,506 out of 2,65,388 students clearing the examination. Harsirat Kaur of Barnala scored a perfect score of 100%, securing the topper position of Punjab board examination.
In 2024, the PSEB Class 12th results were officially declared on April 30, though they were made digitally accessible to students on May 1. Amritsar district recorded the highest pass percentage at 97.27%, while Muktsar Sahib recorded the lowest at 87.86%.

Going further back, the board announced results on May 25 in 2023 and June 28 in 2022. In 2021, the results were declared on July 31 for a total of 2,92,683 registered students.
