After losing power in Delhi, the Punjab government has taken action by transferring 21 IPS officers, including ADGPs, DIGs, and SSPs, on Friday afternoon. The reshuffle includes the appointment of a new Jalandhar Police Commissioner and SSPs in nine districts. The Punjab government has also transferred several district police chiefs: Jyoti Yadav, who previously served as SP in Mohali, is the wife of Punjab’s Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains. Earlier changes in Vigilance Bureau Before this reshuffle, the Punjab government had removed Special DGP Varinder Kumar from the post of Vigilance Chief and replaced him with ADGP Nageshwar Rao. Additionally, Muktsar Sahib DC Rajesh Tripathi has been suspended and is now under vigilance investigation. The government has also dismissed 52 police personnel over allegations of corruption.
