Veteran actor Randhir Kapoor had shared a story about his personal life. He revealed that there was a time when his film career went downhill, which led him to develop an alcohol addiction and he was always intoxicated. His behaviour with wife Babita was also not good. Due to this, both started living separately but never got divorced. Randhir-Babita separated due to alcohol addiction In an old interview, Randhir Kapoor talked about his differences with Babita saying – 'Babita absolutely disliked my late returns home, at that time I had developed an alcohol addiction. Because of this, Babita felt that I was a bad person. Even though we had a love marriage, I never wanted to live the way she wanted me to, and she didn't want to accept me the way I was.' Randhir and Babita separated in 1988. Babita left Randhir's house with both daughters. She raised both daughters alone. However, for quite some time now, they have been living together. Their first meeting happened in 1969 Randhir Kapoor and Babita's romance began in 1969 on the sets of 'Sangam', where their fathers worked together. Their relationship blossomed, leading to Babita starring in Randhir's 1971 directorial debut 'Kal Aaj Aur Kal', which uniquely featured three generations of Kapoors – Prithviraj, Raj, and Randhir. Father had asked – Do you intend to get married or not On Kapil Sharma's show, Randhir Kapoor revealed that while dating Babita for two years, he was just passing time. His father Raj Kapoor, aware of their relationship, confronted him about marriage intentions. Surprisingly, Randhir never proposed to Babita himself; the proposal came from his parents. Their marriage took place in 1971 Randhir Kapoor and Babita got married on November 6, 1971, following Punjabi traditions. Many Bollywood artists including Dev Anand, Dharmendra, Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan, Rekha and Rajendra Kumar attended the wedding. Randhir was last seen acting in 2014 After marrying Randhir, Babita quit working in films. Because the daughters-in-law of the Kapoor family don't work in films. Babita had done only 19 films in her film career. She made her debut with the 1966 film Das Lakh.
