Ropar villages on alert as Bhakra Dam water discharge rises; residents asked to shift to relief camps

Heavy rainfall in Himachal Pradesh led to increased water release from Bhakra Dam. Ropar district issued alerts for low-lying villages along the Sutlej river. Residents were asked to move to relief camps. Punjab government officials, including Harjot Singh Bains, oversaw efforts to strengthen embankments. Volunteers and officials worked together. NDRF teams were deployed to assist in evacuations.
