Russia’s fifth-generation Su-57 fighter jet has officially been equipped with hypersonic weapons, according to a top Aerospace Forces commander. The announcement marks a major leap in Russian aerial strike capability, as the stealth aircraft could soon be launching ultra-fast Zircon missiles with speeds of Mach 9. These developments could allow the Su-57 to strike targets over 1,000 kilometres away with unprecedented precision and power. Russia has also revealed a new compact cruise missile with a 3,500km range designed specifically for the Su-57.
