Slapgate: K’taka senior cop seeks VRS after CM’s public slap gesture

Narayan V Baramani, Additional SP of Dharwad, has sought voluntary retirement after a public incident in Belagavi where Chief Minister Siddaramaiah gestured to slap him. Baramani, with 31 years of service, cited humiliation in his VRS request, submitted a month ago. Despite attempts by the CM and Home Minister to dissuade him, Baramani awaits the government’s decision on his plea.
