Stock markets jump 0.6% after crude‑led slump

Indian stock markets opened higher than Friday’s close as the Sensex jumped 0.63% to 77,145.12 and Nifty 50 rose 0.64% to 24,048.10 as at 9.25 am.
At 8.15 am, GIFT Nifty futures were trading at 24,143.50 points.
Both the benchmark indexes lost 2.7% each in the previous ⁠three sessions, ​as crude prices were rallying due to the stalemnate in US-Iran talks over ending the war in Middle East and weak earnings outlook by software companies.
Meanwhile, oil prices rose on Monday due to prolonged disruption in Middle East energy exports.
