SWAMIH 2.0 (Special Window for Affordable and Mid-Income Housing) is an extension and enhancement of the original SWAMIH fund launched in 2019. It was announced in the Union Budget 2025. Through this scheme, the government of India helps in completion of those houses whose construction has been left uncompleted due to lack of funds. More than 50,000 people got possession of homes: According to SBICAP Ventures Limited (company authorised by the government to finance construction of stalled projects in the country), as of Jan 25, 2025, construction of more than 50,000 homes have been completed by the government under the SWAMIH scheme. In the Budget 2025, the Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman proposed extension of this scheme (SWAMIH 2.0). Here are the key aspects: 1.
