Olympic sprinter Sha’Carri Richardson was taken into custody on domestic violence allegations following an incident at Seattle airport involving her boyfriend and fellow athlete, Christian Coleman. Authorities reported that she repeatedly pushed him and threw a pair of headphones during a heated dispute. Although Coleman chose not to press charges, Richardson was still booked and subsequently released. A few days later, she progressed through the USATF preliminaries but unexpectedly withdrew from both the semifinals and the 200-meter event. Despite the controversy, she still holds her automatic qualification for the 2025 World Championships.
