In a tragic incident, two final-year MBBS students from VIMSAR, Burla, drowned at the Deojharan waterfall in Sambalpur district. Monika Meena, from Rajasthan, and Sandeep Puri, from New Delhi, lost their lives when heavy rain caused a sudden surge in the stream’s volume. Despite warnings against visiting water bodies during the monsoon season, the students ventured to the waterfall after their exams.
