Up to Rs 10 lakh more tax on luxury cars in this state: Here’s why

Maharashtra has increased its one-time registration tax for luxury cars and commercial vehicles, impacting petrol, diesel, CNG, and LNG vehicles. High-end cars priced above Rs 20 lakh will face steeper taxes, potentially adding over Rs 10 lakh to their cost. While electric vehicles remain exempt, goods carriers will now be taxed based on ex-showroom price.
