A primary school on Kolkata’s outskirts, which received a Rs 12 lakh grant from Venezuela during Hugo Chavez’s presidency, held a special prayer for peace in the South American nation. The funds, received in 2007, were used to construct new rooms and improve safety at the Bagu Junior Basic School.
