‘Won’t Apologise If Not Wrong’: Kamal Haasan on Kannada Row | Thug Life Film Sparks Controversy

Actor and Makkal Needhi Maiyam chief Kamal Haasan sparked a row with his remark that “Kannada is born out of Tamil” during a promotional event for Thug Life in Chennai. After pro-Kannada groups threatened to boycott his film and demanded an apology, Kamal responded: “If I’m wrong, I will apologise. If not, I won’t,” he said. He added that his comments were made out of love for languages and history, and slammed those trying to distort his remarks for an agenda.
