India, UK kick off high-voltage `Konkan’ naval exercise in Indian Ocean

India and the UK commenced their major `Konkan` naval exercise in the western Indian Ocean, deploying aircraft carriers, warships, and fighters. Led by INS Vikrant and HMS Prince of Wales, the biennial drills aim to enhance interoperability and reinforce a free and open Indo-Pacific, ahead of British PM Keir Starmer’s visit. This exercise strengthens strategic ties and regional maritime stability.
